Warrand to the Lord Raith to take tryall who discovered the designe of seizing the horses

The Lords of there majesties privie Councill being Informed by the Lord Raith theasurer deput that some persones in the shyre of Fyf have publictly said that upon saturday befor the pairtyes came to Fyff to search for horses They hade Informatione from Edinburgh That horses were to be seized and hade thereupon put them out of the way And desyred the pairtyes to goe see If they could find them They Recomend to the Lord Raith to take tryall who were the persones that thus vented themselves and to trace from persone to persone until the come to the first reporter and Cause seize and present him to the Councill.

Warrant to the Lord Raith to investigate who discovered the design of seizing the horses

The lords of their majesties’ privy council being informed by the Lord Raith, treasurer depute, that some persons in the shire of Fife have publicly said that on Saturday before parties came to Fife to search for horses, they had information from Edinburgh that horses were to be seized and had therefore put them out of the way and desired the parties to see if they could find them. They recommend to Lord Raith to investigate who the persons were who were responsible for this and to trace from person to person until the come to the first reporter and seize and present him to the council.
