Warrant for delivering up Straiton of Balhagerty’s bond

Anent the petition given in to the lords of their majesties’ privy council by John Straiton of Balhagerty shewing that the petitioner, having given bond at Aberdeen to Colonel Buchan to live peaceably under the present government and to appear before their lordships when called, and their majesties’ gracious indemnity being granted thereafter, the petitioner timeously accepted of the benefit thereof as the principal allegiance returned to the clerks of council and a certificate under the sheriff depute of Forfar’s hand dated 18 December 1691 produced with the said petition has testified, notwithstanding of which the petitioner is charged upon the foresaid bond to appear before their lordships, and seeing the said lords are in use to give up the bonds of such as are in the petitioner’s circumstances, therefore craving to the effect underwritten, as the said petition bears. The said lords of their majesties’ privy council, having considered this petition given in to them by the above John Straiton of Balhagerty, they hereby give order and warrant to the clerks of council to deliver up to the petitioner the above bond granted by him and his cautioner dated 3 July 1690 in respect the petitioner has taken the benefit of their majesties’ act of indemnity, and that the oath of allegiance signed by him his original subscription thereto is transmitted to the said clerks of privy council.
