Warrand to delyver up Captain Straitton and his cautioners bond

Anent the petitione given in to the Lords of there majestyes privie Councill be Captain John Straittoun brother german to the Laird of Laurenstoun Shewing That where Hercules Scott of Brothertoun being bond as Cautioner to present the petitioner to the saids Lords when called for and being now charged to Compear befor there Lordships In obedience thereto The petitioner is here present And sieing he hes obtempered and fulfilled the will of there majestyes most gracious Indemnity by tymously takeing the oath of alleadgeance befor the shirreff deput of Forfar as is Instructed by his principall depositione and report made by the shirreff Clerk of the said shyre Lyeing in the clerks hands and therefore Craveing to the effect under wreitten as the said petition bears The Saids Lords of there majestyes privie Councill haveing Considered this petitione given in to them be the above John Straittoun brother to the Laird of Lauristoun They hereby give order and warrand to the Clerks of privie Councill to delyver up the bond granted be the petitioner and his Cautioner for his appearance when called for and peaceable behaviour daitted the Eighteint and nynteint dayes of Februaij Jaj vjc and Eighty Nyne And that in respect the petitioner hes taken the benefite of there majesties Indemnity and sworne and signed the oath of alleadgeance and that the said oath with the petitioners originall subscriptione is returned to the Clerks of privie Councill

Warrant to deliver up Captain Straiton and his cautioner’s bond

Concerning the petition given in to the lords of their majesties’ privy council by Captain John Straiton, brother of the laird of Lauriston, shewing that where Hercules Scott of Brotherton being bound as cautioner to present the petitioner to the said lords when called for and being now charged to appear before their lordships, in obedience thereto the petitioner is here present, and seeing he has complied with and fulfilled the will of their majesties’ most gracious indemnity by timeously taking the oath of allegiance before the sheriff depute of Forfar as is instructed by his principal deposition and report made by the sheriff clerk of the said shire lying in the clerk’s hands, and therefore craving to the effect underwritten, as the said petition bears. The said lords of their majesties’ privy council, having considered this petition given in to them by the above John Straiton brother to the laird of Lauriston, they hereby give order and warrant to the clerks of privy council to deliver up the bond granted by the petitioner and his cautioner for his appearance when called for and peaceable behaviour dated 18 and 19 Februay 1689, and that in respect the petitioner has taken the benefit of their majesties’ indemnity and sworn and signed the oath of allegiance and that the said oath with the petitioner’s original subscription is returned to the clerks of privy council.
