Warrand for Colonell Hill to Grant passes to priests

The Lords of there Majestyes privie Councill being Informed By the Lord High Chancellour That His Lordship hes receaved ane letter from Colonell Hill Governour of Fort-William Recommend accompt that there are some priests desyreing passes from the Collonell to goe abroad oversea’s which the Colonell scruples to grant without the Councills warrand The saids Lords of Councill doe hereby Recommend to the said Lord high Chancellor when His Lordship shall wreitt to Colonell Hill To acquant the said Colonell That the Councill does allow and Impower him the said Colonell to Grant passes to all such priests to goe abroad oversea’s who are not under bale or other restraint from the Councill These priests first subscryveing a bond and enactment Conforme to the Coppie delyvered by the Clerks to the Lord Chancellor at subscryveing hereof which the Councill Intreats his Lordship to transmitt in his Letter to Colonell Hill that these priests shall never returne to there Majestyes dominiones under the pain of death and appoints Colonell Hill to tramsmitt these bonds and Enactments to the Clerks of Councill befor he signe the passes to the priests And that he receave Certificats from the saids Clerks that the same are come to there hands

Warrant for Colonel Hill to Grant passes to priests

The lords of their majesties’ privy council being informed by the lord high chancellor that his lordship has received a letter from Colonel Hill, governor of Fort William, recommending consideration of the fact that that there are some priests desiring passes from the colonel to go abroad overseas which the colonel scruples to grant without the council’s warrant, the said lords of council hereby recommend to the said lord high chancellor when his lordship shall write to Colonel Hill to acquaint the said colonel that the council does allow and empower him the said colonel to grant passes to all such priests to go abroad overseas who are not under bail or other restraint from the council, these priests first subscribing a bond and enactment conforming to the copy delivered by the clerks to the lord chancellor at subscribing hereof which the council intreats his lordship to transmit in his letter to Colonel Hill that these priests shall never return to their majesties’ dominions under the pain of death and appoints Colonel Hill to transmit these bonds and enactments to the clerks of council before he signs the passes to the priests, and that he receives certificates from the said clerks that the same are come to their hands.
