Warrand to give back Garletouns Horses

Anent the petition given in to the Lords of there majestyes privie Councill be Sir George Seattoun of Gairletoun Shewing That where three2 horses of the petitioners have been keeped closs in ane stable in the Cannongate more then tuo moneths to the petitioners great expenses and the hazard of Loseing them being keeped so Long closs in a stable And sieing the petitioner is under baill himself and is alwayes readie with his horses upon there Lordships Call And that he hes applyed severall tymes to the Comittee appointed be the saids Lords for that effect who told the petitioner that they hade reported the effair to the Councill And therefore could have no ansuer And therefore Craveing that the saids Lords would be pleased to order the maister of stable to Lett out the saids horses to the petitioner or any appointed by him to receave the samen Especially sieing all other persones of the Lyke circumstances have gott the Lyke done As the said petitione bears The saids Lords of there Majestyes privie Councill haveing considered this petition given in to them be the above Sir George Seattoun of Garletoun They hereby recomend to Sir Thomas Livingstoun Comander in cheiff of there majestyes forces within this Kingdome to give order and warrand to Frances Baxter Stabler at the foot of the Canongate In whose custodie the above three horses are to delyver the samen back again to the petitioner.

Warrant to give back Garleton’s horses

Concerning the petition given in to the lords of their majesties’ privy council by Sir George Seton of Garleton shewing that, where three horses of the petitioner have been kept closed in a stable in the Canongate more then two months, to the petitioner’s great expense and the hazard of losing them, being kept so long enclosed in a stable, and seeing the petitioner is under bail himself and is always ready with his horses upon their lordships’ call, and that he has applied several times to the committee appointed by the said lords for that effect, who told the petitioner that they had reported the affair to the council and therefore could have no answer, and therefore craving that the said lords would be pleased to order the master of stable to let out the said horses to the petitioner or any appointed by him to receive them, especially seeing all other persons in the same circumstances have got this done, as the said petition bears. The said lords of their majesties’ privy council, having considered this petition given in to them by the above Sir George Seton of Garleton, they hereby recommend to Sir Thomas Livingston, commander in chief of their majesties’ forces within this Kingdome to give order and warrant to Frances Baxter, stabler at the foot of the Canongate in whose custody the above three horses are, to deliver the same back again to the petitioner.
