Warrand for Comitting three priests Closs prisoners or allowing them to goe abroad

The Lords of there majesties privie Councill doe hereby Give order and warrand to the Magistrats of Edinburgh Bailzies of Leith and Keeper of the tolbooth of Leith To Comitt Mr George Gordone Mr Alexander Crightoun and Mr Robert Davidsone three preists presently prisoners in the said tolbooth Closs prisoners within the same Notwithstanding of any former act of Councill allowing the saids preists to goe abroad some houres Each day in the afternoon But In case these preists shal desyre to goe abroad to other Countries allowes the saids magistrats and bailzies to transport them from the said tolbooth aboord of any ship goeing for forraigne Countries The saids priests first exacting themselves in the books of privie Councill That they shall depairt furth of there majesties Dominiones and never returne thereto under the paine of death

Warrant for committing three priests close prisoners or allowing them to go abroad

The lords of their majesties’ privy council do hereby give order and warrant to the magistrates of Edinburgh, bailies of Leith, and keeper of the tolbooth of Leith to commit Mr George Gordon, Mr Alexander Creighton, and Mr Robert Davidson, three priests presently prisoners in the said tolbooth, close prisoners within the same, notwithstanding of any former act of council allowing the said priests to go abroad some hours each day in the afternoon. But in case these priests shall desire to go abroad to other countries, allows the said magistrates and bailies to transport them from the said tolbooth aboard of any ship going for foreign countries, the said priests first exacting themselves in the books of privy council that they shall depart forth of their majesties’ dominions and never return thereto under the pain of death.
