Warrand for a passport to the Laird of Mcclean

The Lords of there Majestyes privie Counsell being Informed by the Earle of Argyll That Sir John McLean of that ilk hes by a Letter signifyed to his Lordship If the Councill will grant him a passport to goe for Flanders or England That he may throw himself at his majestyes feet He will consigne all the houses upon his ground and under his comand which have been or are keept out againest there Majestyes for his majestyes service and willingly performe all such things as his majestie requyres the Earle of Arguyll by force to bring him to The saids Lords of privie Councill appoints a passport to be granted to the said Laird of McLean to the effect forsaid and the same to be Committed to the Earle of Arguyll to be by his Lordship delyvered to McLean The said Laird of McLean first Consigneing the forsaid houses for his majestyes service And Lykewayes performeing all things which his Majesty hes ordained the said Earle by force to reduce him to the2 performance of and the Earle is to delyver the passport upon no other termes

Warrant for a passport to the Laird of McLean

The lords of their majesties’ privy council being informed by the Earl of Argyll that Sir John McLean of that ilk has by a letter signified to his lordship if the council will grant him a passport to go for Flanders or England that he may throw himself at his majesty’s feet he will consigne all the houses upon his ground and under his command which have been or are kept out against their majesties for his majesty’s service and willingly perform all such things as his majesty requires, the earl of Argyll by force to bring him to the said lords of privy council, appoints a passport to be granted to the said laird of McLean to the effect forsaid, and the same to be committed to the earl of Argyll to be by his lordship delivered to McLean, the said Laird of McLean first consigning the forsaid houses for his majesty’s service and likewise performing all things which his majesty has ordained the said earl by force to reduce him to the performance of and the earl is to deliver the passport upon no other terms.
