Warrand for persueing Captain Wallace but not for treasone

There Majestyes Sollicitour Haveing moved to the Councill that the warrand direct to him for persewing of Captain John Wallace who Comanded the guaird in the Abbay in winter Jaj vjc and Eightie Eight when severall persones were killed does not bear the Cryme of treasone And that he could not persew for treasone without a speciall warrand to that effect And therefore desyred to know If they Uould order him to persew for treasone or not The same haveing gone to a vote wes carryed in the negative And appoynted the Interloquitor to stand as formerly pronunced.

Warrant for persuing Captain Wallace but not for treason

Their majesties’ solicitor, having moved to the council that the warrant directed to him for pursuing Captain John Wallace who commanded the guard in the Abbey [of Holyrood] in winter 1688 when several persons were killed, does not bear the crime of treason, and that he could not pursue for treason without a special warrant to that effect, and therefore desired to know if they would order him to pursue for treason or not. The same having gone to a vote was carried in the negative, and appointed the interlocutor to stand as formerly pronounced.
