Warrand to the Governour of the Castle of Stirling to receive the Earl of Perth prisoner

The Lords of there majestyes privie Councill haveing by a letter from the Lord High Chancellour in there Name and at there order signifyed to the Earle of Pearth that it is the Councills pleasure His Lordship should reenter himself prisoner within the Castle of Stirling upon the seventeenth day of Maij Current albeit the day in the bond granted for his Lordships reentrie be after that day Therefore they hereby Give order and warrand to Lievetennent Collonell John Erskine deputtie Governour of the Castle of Stirling to receave the said Earle of Pearth into the said castle upon the said day and to detain him prisoner therein untill further order

Warrant to the governor of the Castle of Stirling to receive the earl of Perth as a prisoner

The lords of their majesties’ privy council, having by a letter from the lord high chancellor in their name and at their order signified to [James Drummond], earl of Perth that it is the council’s pleasure that his lordship should re-enter himself as a prisoner within the Castle of Stirling on 17 May current, albeit the day in the bond granted for his lordship’s re-entry is after that day. Therefore they hereby give order and warrant to Lieutenant Colonel John Erskine, deputy governor of the Castle of Stirling to receive the said earl of Perth into the said castle on the said day and to detain him as a prisoner there until further order.
