Warrant

Warrand to Sir Thomas Livingstoun to seize suspect persones horses and armes

The Lords of there Majestyes privie Councill Considering that dureing the present exigence of effairs there may be a necessity suddenly to seize upon particular persones horses or armes when they cannot alwayes meet in Councill for granting particular warrands to that effect Therefore the saids Lords doe hereby recomend to and authorize Sir Thomas Livingstoun Comander in cheiff of there majesties forces within the Kingdome To cause make Inquirie for and seiz upon and apprehend any persones he knowes or shall be Informed of are dissaffected to and acting consulting or contryveing againest there Majestyes or the government or the horses and armes of such persones as he shall thinks fitt And cause detain the saids persones prisoners untill examined befor the Councill And for the more readie discharge hereof that he grant all warrands or orders necessarie to any magistrates or officers of there majestyes forces

Warrant to Sir Thomas Livingston to seize suspect persons’ horses and arms

The lords of their majesties’ privy council, considering that during the present exigency of affairs there may be a necessity suddenly to seize particular persons’ horses or arms when they cannot always meet in council for granting particular warrants to that effect, therefore the said lords hereby recommend to and authorise Sir Thomas Livingston, commander in chief of their majesties’ forces within the kingdom, to make enquiry for and seize and apprehend any persons he knows or shall be informed of that are disaffected to and acting, consulting or contriving against their majesties or the government, or the horses and arms of such persons as he shall think fit and detain the said persons as prisoners until examined before the council, and for the more ready discharge hereof that he grants all warrants or orders necessary to any magistrates or officers of their majesties’ forces.
