Proclamation Continueing the Privie Councell and other offices and officers

Proclamation continueing the privie Councell, Read, voted, approven, Signed, and ordered to be recorded printed and published, wherof the tenor follows
Anne by the Grace of God Queen of Great Brittaine; France and Irland, defender of the faith To our Lyon King at arms, and his brethren Heraulds, Meacers of our Privie Councell, pursevants messengers att armes, our Shirreffs in that pairt Conjunctllie and Severallie Speciallie constitut Greeting Forasmuch as by the nynteenth article of the Treatie of Union of the Kingdoms of Scotland and England appoynted to commence from the first day of May nixt, It is provyded that wee and our Royall Successors, may continue a privie Councell in Scotland for preserveing of publict peace and peace,2 Untill the parliament of Great Brittaine to alter it, or establish another effectuall method for that end, And that it is necessary at this tyme not only to continue our privie Councell of Scotland, But also to continue other offices and officers, which may Seem wpon the commencement of the Union to cease or requyre other offices and officers, which may Seem wpon the commencement of the Union to cease or requyre alteration, Untill further orders and provision be made theranent after the said first of May in competent forme: Therfor wee have thought fitt for the preservation of good order, and better observation of the terms of the Union, To authorize and requyre the Lords and others of our privie Councell to meet after the said first day of May, And to continue to act by vertue of our former Comission as our privie Councell in Scotland in all things necessary for these ends, Untill wee Shall otherwayes provyde; And farder wee with advyce of our said Privie Councell, Doe heirby ordaine that untill wee Shall otherwayes provyde, All our officers of State, Councellors Magistrats, and all other officers whatsomever Doe continue to act in all things for the ends forsaid Conforme to ther Commissions formerly granted by ws as Queen of Scotland. Our Will is Heirfore and wee Strictly Charge and Command yow that yow incontinently make due publication heirof att the mercat Cross of Edinburgh, and all other places needfull for certiorating all our good Subjects of our will in the premises, And that they conforme themselves therto in all poynts, And that non therein pretend ignorance. Given under our Signet att Edinburgh the Twentie nynth day of Apryll, and of our reigne the Sixt year Jaj vijc and Sevine Sic subscribitur Glasgow P. Buchan. Findlater. Roseberie. Garnock.
