Act In favours of Captain Thomas Gordon

Anent the memoriall given in and presented to the Lords of her Majesties privie Councell By Captain Thomas Gordon Shewing that the Royall William being so very Crank that she cannot cary saill without havier ballist than Stones, That therfor it might please the saids Lords to give him orders to take aboard those Guns, which belonged to the Bass, and are now of no maner of use to the Government, But Such as this If att any tyme the Government thinks they have use for them, they may have them ashoar upon twentie four hours advertisement; The Lords of her Majesties privie Councell haveing considered the above memoriall given in to them by Captain Thomas Gordon Comander of her Majesties Ship the Royall William, And the Samen being read in ther presence, The saids Lords doe heirby Allow the said Captain Thomas Gordon the Guns which wer formerly in the Bass, now Lying on the Shoar of Leith, upon his granting recept therfor to the Shoarmaster to make the Samen furth comeing for the use of the Government, when requyred therto.

Act in favour of Captain Thomas Gordon

Concerning the memorial given in and presented to the lords of her majesty’s privy council by Captain Thomas Gordon, showing that the Royal William, being so very unstable that she cannot carry sail without heavier ballast than stones, that therefore it might please the said lords to give him orders to take aboard those guns which belonged to the Bass, and are now of no manner of use to the government, but such as this if at any time the government thinks they have use for them, they may have them ashore upon twenty-four hours’ advertisement. The lords of her majesty’s privy council having considered the above memorial given in to them by Captain Thomas Gordon, commander of her majesty’s ship the Royal William, and the same being read in their presence, the said lords doe hereby allow the said Captain Thomas Gordon the guns which were formerly in the Bass, now lying on the shore of Leith, upon his granting receipt therefor to the shore-master to make the same forthcoming for the use of the government when required thereto.
