Act Appoynting Patrick Hay to be master of the Royall Mary

The Lords of her Majesties Privie Councell Doe heirby warrant, impower and appoynt yow Patrick Hay to be master of her Majesties Shipe Called the Royall Mary, Willing and requyring yow to goe on board the said Shipe, and take wpon yow the charge as Master of the said Shipe, Strictly Comanding and Chargeing all the Inferior officers and Seamen belonging to the Said Shipe, to obey yow in ther respective Stations and imployments, with all due respect as Master of the Said Shipe, And yow lykewayes to observe and execute all orders and Instructions that yow Shall receive from your Captain, or any other your Superior officers from tyme to tyme, wherin yow nor non of yow may faill, as yow will answer the contrary att your perrill, And for so doeing thir presents (being recorded in the books of Privie Councell And to continue till recalled) Shall be your Sufficient warrand. Given att Edinburgh the twelfth day of March Jaj vijc and Six years.

Act appointing Patrick Hay to be master of the Royal Mary

The lords of her majesty’s privy council do hereby warrant, empower and appoint you, Patrick Hay, to be master of her majesty’s ship called the Royal Mary, willing and requiring you to go on board the said ship and take upon you the charge as master of the said ship, strictly commanding and charging all the inferior officers and seamen belonging to the said ship to obey you in their respective stations and employments, with all due respect as master of the said ship. And you likewise [are] to observe and execute all orders and instructions that you shall receive from your captain, or any other your superior officers from time to time, wherein you nor none of you may fail, as you will answer the contrary at your peril. And for so doing these present (being recorded in the books of privy council, and to continue till recalled) shall be your sufficient warrant. Given at Edinburgh 12 March 1706.
