Letter from the Queen for levieing a Redgment of foot Lord Mark Kerr Collonell

Letter from the Queens Majestie to the Councell for raising a redgment of foot To be Commanded by Lord Mark Kerr brother German to the Marques of Lothian, Read and ordered to be recorded, And a warrand granted in the terms therof Conforme to former warrands granted in the lyke cases, Off which letter the tenor follows.

Right trusty and right well beloved Cousine and Councellor, Right trustie and intirely beloved Cousins and Counsellors, Right trustie and well beloved Cousins and Councellors, Right trustie and well beloved Councellors, and trustie and well beloved Councellors, Wee Greet yow well; Wheras wee think it necessary for our Service that more forces be raised and transported abroad to Act in conjunction with our allyes; Therfor wee have given Commission to our right trustie and beloved Lord Mark Kerr brother german to the Marques of Lothian, to raise a redgment of foot In that our antient Kingdome, which is to be Commanded by him, and payed on the English Establishment, And that the Samen may be levied the more Speedily, It is our will and pleasure, and wee heirby authorize and requyre yow to give all due incouragment and assistance to the said Collonell Lord Mark Kerr in raising the said redgment, as is usuall and consistant with the Laws of that our Kingdome; For doeing of which this Shall be your warrant, And so wee bid yow heartily farwell, Given at our Court att Windsor Castell the twentie nynth day of March Jaj vijc and Six years, And of our reigne the fyfth year, By her Majesties Command Sic Subscribitur Mar.

Letter from the queen’s majesty to the council for raising a regiment of foot to be commanded by Lord Mark Kerr, brother german to [William Kerr] the marquis of Lothian, read and ordered to be recorded, and a warrant granted in the terms thereof conform to former warrants granted in the like cases. Of which letter the tenor follows:

Right trusty and right well beloved cousin and councillor, right trusty and entirely beloved cousins and councillors, right trusty and well beloved cousins and councillors, right trusty and well beloved councillors, and trusty and well beloved councillors, we greet you well. Whereas we think it necessary for our service that more forces be raised and transported abroad to act in conjunction with our allies, therefor we have given commission to our right trusty and beloved Lord Mark Kerr, brother german to the marquis of Lothian, to raise a regiment of foot in that our ancient kingdom, which is to be commanded by him, and paid on the English establishment. And that the same may be levied the more speedily, it is our will and pleasure, and we hereby authorise and require you to give all due encouragement and assistance to the said colonel Lord Mark Kerr in raising the said regiment, as is usual and consistent with the laws of that our kingdom. For doing of which this shall be your warrant. And so we bid you heartily farewell, Given at our court at Windsor Castle 29 March 1706, and of our reign the fifth year.
