Procedure

[Recommendation anent transporting vagabonds]

Sir James Steuart her Majesties Advocat haveing represented to the Board that the Shirreff of Teviotdale had Seased severall women vagabounds and Sorners, and desyred the Councells orders how to dispose of them, The Lords of her Majesties privie Councell, doe heirby Recommend to the said Sir James Steuart to wrytt to the said Shirreff, and to transmitt to him, ane particular account of the severall acts and laws against such sorners and vagabounds, with particular directions of the maner of procedure against them, to the effect they may be tryed accordingly. And to desyre the said Shirreff to transmitt to the Councell ane account of his dilligence with the first conveniencie.

[Recommendation concerning transporting vagabonds]

Sir James Stewart, her majesty’s advocate, having represented to the board that the sheriff of Teviotdale [Roxburghshire] had seized several women, vagabonds and sorners, and desired the council’s orders how to dispose of them, the lords of her majesty’s privy council do hereby recommend to the said Sir James Stewart to write to the said sheriff, and to transmit to him a particular account of the several acts and laws against such sorners and vagabonds, with particular directions of the manner of procedure against them, to the effect they may be tried accordingly. And to desire the said sheriff to transmit to the council an account of his diligence with the first conveniency.
