Warrand to Sir Robert Forbes to wryt to Elshinore

The Marques of Montrose Lord president of privie Councell Acquanted the Board that he had received a letter from the Earle of Loudoun principall Secretary of State In answer to a letter from the Councell to his lordship anent Convoys to Scots Ships att Gottenberge, Bearing that his lordship had read the Councells letter to her Majestie; and that therwpon her Majestie was Graciously pleased to order Sir Edward Whitaker, with her Majesties Ships wnder his Comand to Call att Gottenberge in his returne homeward, And to take wnder his Convoy the Scots Ships that are their, and to See them Safely within the Scots firth, at least within the Cruise of the Scots Frigotts, The Lords of her Majesties privie Councell Doe heirby Appoynt Sir Robert Forbes ther Clerk to acquant Mr Lyell at Elsinore of the said order that he may acquant the Masters of the Scots ships to be in readiness to wait upon the said Convoy about the midle of this moneth of July.

Warrant to Sir Robert Forbes to write to Helsingør

[James Graham] the marquis of Montrose, lord president of privy council, acquainted the board that he had received a letter from the [Hugh Campbell] earl of Loudoun, principal secretary of state, in answer to a letter from the council to his lordship concerning convoys to Scots shops at Gothenburg, bearing that his lordship had read the council’s letter to her majesty, and that thereupon her majesty was graciously pleased to order Sir Edward Whitaker, with her majesty’s ships under his command, to call at Gothenburg on his return homeward, and to take under his convoy the Scots ships that are there, and to see them safely within the Scots firth, at least within the cruise of the Scots frigates. The lords of her majesty’s privy council do hereby appoint Sir Robert Forbes, their clerk, to acquaint Mr Lyell at Helsingør of the said order that he may acquaint the masters of the Scots ships to be in readiness to wait upon the said convoy about the middle of this month of July.
