Letter from the Queens Majestie to Councell for removing John Marques of Tweedale from being president of privie Councell, John Earle of Rothes from being privie Seall, John Earle of Roxburgh from being one of the principall Secretaries of State, George Baillie of Jerviswood from being Lord Theasaurer deput, Charles Earle of Selkirk and John Lord Ballhaven from being Lords Commissioners of the Theasaurie, and all of them from being of her Majesties Councell and Exchequer being read the same was ordered to be recorded.

Right trustie and Right intirely beloved Coustine and Councellor, Right trustie and right well beloved Cousine and Councellor, Right trustie and well beloved Cousins and Councellors, Right trustie and well beloved Councellors, and trustie and well beloved Councellors Wee Greet yow well, Wheras wee think it for our service to remove John Marques of Tweedale, from being president of our Councell of Scotland John Earle of Rothes from being Keeper of our privie Seall, John Earl of Roxburgh from being one of our principall Secretaries of State, George Baillie of Jerviswood from being Lord Theasaurer deput, and Charles Earle of Selkirk, and John Lord Ballhaven from being Lords Commissioners of our Theasaury there, and also to remove all of them from being of our privie Councell and Exchequer; It is therfor our will and pleasure; And wee heirby authorize and requyre yow, to Signifie to each and all of them that they are no more in the forsaids offices, nor members either2 of our privie Councell or Exchequer, For doeing wherof this shall be yor warrand; And so wee bid yow heartily farewell; Given at our Court at Kingsingtoun the fyfth day of June 1705. And of our reigne the fourth year, By her Majesties Command Sic Subscribitur David Nairne.

Letter from the queen’s majesty to council for removing John [Hay] marquis of Tweeddale from being president of privy council, John [Leslie] earl of Rothes from being privy seal, John [Ker] earl of Roxburghe from being one of the principal secretaries of state, George Baillie of Jerviswood from being lord treasurer depute, Charles [Douglas] earl of Selkirk and John [Hamilton] Lord Belhaven from being lords commissioners of the treasury, and all of them from being of her majesty’s council and exchequer being read the same was ordered to be recorded.
