Warrant to the Lord Advocat anent the Walls

Anent a representation given in and presented to his Grace her majesties high Commissioner, and the Lords of her Majesties privie Counsell By Sir Francis Scott of Thurlestone master of work, Representing that hitherto that have been great abuses Committed on the fountains and watters that are brought in to her Majesties palace of Holyruidehouse by multituds of idle people and boys, who Comonly crude to the park on Sundays or other dayes, and have many tymes broke up the principall Sisterne at St Antonys well, filled it with Stones, and all kind of nastieness, and have broke and Stollen away many yeards of the lead by opening the ground in severall places, broke open the doors of all the cisterns, which if not prevented will be a continuall expenss to her Majesties Theasaury, and cutt off the conveniencie of watter from her pallace, and therefore craving to the effect aftermentioned, as the said representation bears, His Grace her Majesties high Commissioner, and Lords of her Majesties privie Councell haveing considered the within representation given in to them by Sir Francis Scott, and the samen being read in their presence His Grace and the saids Lords Doe heirby Recommend to Sir James Steuart his Majesties advocat to take his own way to make discovery of what is within represented, and his Grace and the saids Lords promises the Soume of fyve pound Sterling money to the persone that shall make discovery thereof, and appoynts the advocat to insist against the persons who shall be discovered or any of them befor their Lordships.
