Recommendation to the Lord Advocat

The Lord Chancellor having produced to the Board the declarations of Israell Phippeny and others taken in London in relation to Captain Drummond, and transmitted to his lordship by Mr Wedderburne the Secretary deput, And the Samen being Read in ther presence, His Grace her Majesties high Commissioner, And the Lords of her Majesties privie Councell Doe heirby Recommend to Sir James Steuart her Majesties Advocat with the Solicitor to prepare and bring in to Councill nixt Councill day ane Commission to be granted to Some persons in London for takeing the oaths and Testimonies of the said Israell Phippeny and others In relation to the Said Captain Drummond.

The lord chancellor [James Ogilvie, earl of Seafield] having produced to the board the declarations of Israel Phippeny and others taken in London in relation to Captain Drummond, and transmitted to his lordship by Mr [Alexander] Wedderburn, the secretary depute, and the same being read in their presence, his grace [John Campbell, duke of Argyll] her majesty’s high commissioner and the lords of her majesty’s privy council do hereby recommend to Sir James Stewart, her majesty’s advocate, with the solicitor to prepare and bring in to council next council day a commission to be granted to some persons in London for taking the oaths and testimonies of the said Israel Phippeny and others in relation to the said Captain Drummond.
