His Grace her Majesties high Commissioner, and Lords of her Majesties privie Councell Doe heirby Recommend to the Earle of Levine, Governour and Constable of the Castell of Edinburgh To Sett the persone of George Haynes one of Greens Crew at liberty furth of the said Castell, And gives order and warrand to the Magistrats of Edinburgh and Keepers of ther Tollbooth, To Sett the persone of […] Lintsteed one of Captain Greens Crew at Liberty furth therof.

Warrant for Haynes’ and Lintsteed’s liberations

His grace [John Campbell, duke of Argyll] her majesty’s high commissioner and lords of her majesty’s privy council doe hereby recommend to [David Melville] earl of Leven, governor and constable of the castle of Edinburgh, to set the person of George Haynes, one of [Thomas] Green’s crew, at liberty forth of the said castle, and gives order and warrant to the magistrates of Edinburgh and keepers of their tolbooth to set the person of [Thomas] Lintsteed, one of Captain Green’s crew, at liberty forth thereof.
