Protection Sir David Arnot

Anent the petitione given into the Lords of his Majesties privy Councill By Sir David Arnot of that ilk Sheuing That wher the petitioner is pursued before their Lordships at the Instance of Alexander Bruce son to the deceast Andrew Bruce of Earlshall as being guiltie of ane pretended ryott And the petitioner being most willing to Compear before their Lordships and defend himself if he were not necessitat to abscond by reasone of Letters of Caption raised against the petitioner at the Instance of Sir Patrick Scott of Ancrum And therfore Humblie Craving to the effect underwryten as the said petitione bears The saids Lords of his Majesties privie Councill Having Considered this petitione given in to them by the said Sir David Arnot of that ilk They heirby Grant personall protection to the petitioner for attending the dyetts of the said proces raised at the instance of the said Alexander Bruce against the petitioner untill the tuenty Fourth day of June Inclusive And discharges all Macers Messengers or officers uithin burgh or Landuard to putt any Letters of Caption Acts of warding or other dilligence to personall executione against the petitioner untill the said day Excepting his Majesties rents and publick dues sic subscribitur Marchmont cancelar Southerland Lauderdale Tarbat James Ogilvie James Steuart James Murray W Anstruther John Maxwell.
