Right trustie and right well beloved Cousin and Councelor Right trustie and Entirely Beloved Cousin and Councelor Right trustie and right well beloved Cousins and Councelors Right trustie and uell beloved Cousins and Councelors Right trustie and well beloved Councelors And trustie and well beloved Councelors We Greet yow well We Have Receaved your Congratulatory Letter upon the Conclusion of the peace and our safe returne into Britaine And we doe Give yow our hearty thanks for the assurance which yow give us in it of your Duty and affection to our persone and government We are also well pleased with the accounts We have of your administration of Our affairs of that our antient kingdome during our absence We have aluayes made it our cheiff care to protect all our good subjects in the full and free possession of their religion Laues and Liberties And now since ther is ane happy period putt to the warr And that God hes blessed us and our dominions with peace we are resolved to make the happines and prosperity of our poeple our principall Concerne We have Convincing proofs of your Loyaltie and fidelity And we doubt not but that on all occasions yow will Continow to doe what is necessary for our service. And Therfore yow may be assured That we have yow under our particular protection So we bid yow heartily Farewell Given att our Court at Kensingtone the thretty day of November 1697 and of our reigne the nynth year By his Majesties Command sic subscribitur James Ogilvie.
