Anent the petition given in to the Lords of his Majesties privie Councill By Leivtenant Alexander Cazett Sheuing That wher notwithstanding of his Majesties gracious pardon and absolute remission in favoures of the petitioner anent the Casuall Slaughter of Ensigne John Skeen The relations of the said defunct seemed not only to Grudge at the apprehension of the petitioners resolutiones to stay in Scotland But Lykewise propose the removing of him by ane bond of Banishment of the most extravogantly Dishonourable tearms that they Could devise And which uould doubtles render the petitioner Incapable of Imployment amongst Gentlemen abroad And so utterly evacuat the designe of his Majesties said Gracious pardone and remission The petitioner nevertheless being noe uayes Inclyned to prove ane occasion of offence to any man farr Less to the defuncts relations Did as yet does firmly purpose to remove himself outwith the Kingdome and dominions therof uithin such Competent tyme as their Lordships shall be pleased to allow And In order therto humblie offers to Subscrybe ane bond of banishment of the tenor given in with the said petition which It is humblie hoped their Lordships will sustaine as sufficient from a persone in the petitioners case and Cloathes with his Majesties absolute remission as said is And ther being about Fourteen months arrears due to the petitioner as Leivtennant And that for defraying his expences hitherto uith what may be necessar for dispatching his affairs and Carrying him off the kingdome It may be thought reasonable that the Lords Commissioners of his Majesties Thesaury should order the payment of the petitioner his saids arrears And therfore humblie Craving their Lordships would be pleased to accept of the petitioners Subscryving a bond of the tenor of that which is given in with the said petition And allow him tyme for his necessary dispatches untill the recruites be Shipped off And in the mean tyme recommend him to the Lords Commissioners of the Thesaury for payment of his saids arrears And in respect the petitioner has in the petition Subscryved the bond as appears by the samen in the Clerks hands It is humbly begged that their Lordships would ordaine him to be sett at Libertie for the ordering and dispatch of his finall and necessary affairs before his departure as the said petition bears The saids Lords of his Majesties privie Councill having Considered this petition given in to them by the uithin Alexander Cazett and another by the Lord Mersingtoun and Mr Thomas Skeen against the same with the bonds produced with each petition They heirby Decerne and ordaine the said Leivtennant Alexander Cazett to signe and subsryve the bond presented and Given in by the said Lord Mersingtoun and Mr Thomas Skeen And in respect the said Leivtenant Alexander Cazet hath signed the samen Gives order and warrand to the Magistrats of Edinburgh baillies of the Cannongate and Keeper of their tolbooth to sett the said Leivtennant Alexander Cazet at Libertie furth therof The said Leivtennant aluayes departing furth of this Kingdome uithin Fourteen dayes nixt after signing of the said bond And In the mean tyme the saids Lords have Confyned And heirby Confyne the said Leivtennant Alexander Cazett to his oune Chamber And discharges him to goe uithout the same untill the said day that he depart furth of this Kingdome.
