Act Changing the Late Archbishop of Glasgows Confynment

The Lords of his Majesties privie Councill Having Considered a Memoriall Given in to them By John Late Archbishop of Glasgow Craving that the Councill would Confyne him to the House of Airth In respect he Cannot find a Convenient Lodging for his Numerous family in the toune of Couper of Fife To which the saids Lords hes Confyned him They doe heirby Change the said John Late Archbishop of Glasgow his Confynment from the toune of Couper of Fife to the mansion place or manner place of Airth and three Mylles about the same And ordaines him furth uith to repaire to the place of his Confynment In respect He hath Given bond and Found sufficient Caution acted in the books of privie Councill That he shall Immediately repair to and Keep uithin the bounds of his said Confynment and Shall not Goe uithout the same And that he shall Live peacably under and uith all submission to the present Government of his Majestie King William And that he shall not Act Consult nor Contryve any thing in prejudice therof Nor shall not Converss or Correspond uith any rebells And that he shall appear before the saids Lords of his Majesties privie Councill whensoever he shall be Called or required to that effect under the penaltie of ane thousand pounds sterling In case he shall transgress in any pairt of the premisses.
