Att Edinburgh the Fifteenth day of Apryle Jaj vic nyntie seven years

Act for a Collection for building a kirk att Koningsberg

Anent the petitione given in to the Lords of his Majesties privie Councill By the Ministers and Elders Commissioners appointed by the Late Generall Assembly Sheuing That wher ane address directed to the Generall Assembly of the Church of Scotland or in their absence to their Commissioners from theise of the Sotch Nation residing in Konigsberg in Prussia with the Ministers and elders of the reformed Church ther hath been presented to the petitioners by Mr Francis Hay their deputy Earnestly Craving the assistance of the Churches of this Kingdome for helping them to Carry on the building of the fabrick of a church which they have obtained the libertie to build by the favour of the Duke of Brandenberg as the said Address produced bears And seing that the said worke appears to be Good and necessary And that the petitioners are Indeed sensible of the Great and particular obligatione Lyes upon them to Give their Countrey men in that place all Assistance in their pouer which they Conceave Can only be done by their Lordships Interposing of their authority for a free and voluntar Collection to be made through the whole Churches and paroches of the Kingdome and that in the way and manner that may prove most effectuall And therfore Humblie Craving to the effect underwryten as the said petition Bears The saids Lords of his Majesties privie Councill Having Considered this petitione given in to them by the Ministers and Elders Commissioners appointed by the Late Generall Assembly with the Request of these of the Scotch nation in Konigsberg to the Generall Assembly of this Church or their Commissioners mentioned therin and produced theruith They doe hereby allow a Generall Collection to be made through the whole Churches and paroches of this Kingdome for promoting of the said work of building a Church at Konigsberg for these of the reformed religion and that it may be the more effectuall The saids Lords Doe heirby allow the respective presbyteries and ministers Concerned aither to make the said Collection at their Kirk doors or by the Ministers Elders and Deacons from house to house as they shall thinke most expedient And to Intimat the said Collectione upon such dayes as they shall think most fitt for that effect.
