Liberation The Earle of Seaforth
The Lords of his Majesties privie Councill Having Considered his Majesties Letter Direct to them of the date the first day of March Last Authorizing and requiring them To sett the Earle of Seaforth at Liberty who as he is Informed hes rendered himself prisoner to the garrison at Invernes and Cast himself upon his Majesties mercy upon Sufficient baill to Live peacably and appear when called for And to Recommend to the Lord Advocat not to Insist in the Criminall proces against the said Earle during his Majesties pleasure They doe heirby Give order and warrand to the Governor of the Garrisone of Fortwilliam And In his absence to the nixt Commanding officer ther To sett the said Kenneth Earle of Seaforth at Libertie furth therof In respect He hath Given bond and found sufficient Cautione acted in the books of privy Councill That he shall Live peacably under and with all Submission to the present government of his Majestie King William And that he shall not Act Consult or Contryve any thing In prejudice therof nor shall not Converss or Correspond uith any rebells And that he shall appear before the saids Lords of his Majesties privy Councill whensoever he shall be Called or required therto under the penalty of Tuo Thousand pounds sterling In caise he shall transgress in any part of the premysses And Recommends to Sir James Steuart his Majesties Advocat to desert the dyet in the proces of Treasone presently Depending at his Lordships Instance against the said Earle Before the Lord Justice Generall Lord Justice Clerk and Lords Commissioners of his Majesties Justiciary And not to Intent nor Insist in any proces of treasone against the said Earle untill his Majesties pleasure be further knouen therin.
