Liberation Thomas Craufurd

The Lords of his Majesties privie Councell Being Informed by Sir James Steuart his Majesties advocat That Thomas Craufurd one of the Mariners of his Majesties Ship Called the Dumbartoun Castle presently prisoner In the tolbooth of Leith was in a Criminall Court held before the Lord High admirall of Scotland and his deputes Found guiltie of killing of John Reid also Mariner in the said ship by the shott Lybelled And that it is found proven that the same was done Casuallie without any premeditat malice or desegne of the said Thomas Craufurd The saids Lords of privie Councell by vertue and Conform to the act of parliament anent Casuall homicide Doe heirby Give order and warrand to the baillies of Leith and Keeper of their tolbooth To sett the said Thomas Craufurd at Libertie furth therof For which this shall be to all Concerned a sufficient warrand In respect The said Thomas Craufurd before extracting heirof hath produced in the hands of the Clerks of privie Councell a true Coppie or testificat of the verdict pronnunced in the Criminall proces before the Admirall against him under the hands of the Clerk of the Admiralty Court.
