Act Discharging persons to goe aboard of or Correspond uith French privateers

The Lords of his Majesties privie Councill Being Informed that notuithstanding the Laues and Acts of parliament against such as Correspond uith his Majesties Enemies And particularly the Act Jaj vic nyntie thrie Intituled Act Against Corresponding with France yet upon the occasion of French privateers and others his Majesties Enemies coming upon the Coasts of this Kingdome severall persons hath aither been ensnared or have presumed to Goe on board of them or otherwayes to Correspond with them albeit enemies and in actuall hostility as said is Therfore the saids Lords of privie Councill Have discharged and heirby discharges all and every one of his Majesties Leidges to goe on board any of the saids privateers or otheruayes to Correspond uith them in any Sort or to have any manner of dealling uith them uithout express Licence obtained for that effect from the saids Lords of privie Councill under the pains in the saids Acts And the saids Lords of privie Councill Doe heirby ordaine that all shirreffs steuarts Baillies and their deputs and other Magistrats whatsoever be Carefull that these presents be duely observed as they will be ansuerable As also that they be printed and published att the mercat Cross of Edinburgh and other places needfull.
