Commission for Additionall Commissioners of Supply in Drumfreis shire
The Lords of his Majesties privie Councill Considering that by the first act of the fifth session of his Majesties Current parliament of this his antient Kingdome of Scotland Ther are Commissioners appointed (and named in that and preceeding acts of parliament) in each shire of this Kingdom for ordering and uplifting the supply granted by the said Act to his Majestie And by the said Act of parliament It is Committed to the Lords of his Majesties privie Councill upon the death or not acceptance of any of the Commissioners of supply appointed by the said Act of parliament To nominat and appoint others in their places And to add such other persons to be Commissioners as they shall think fitt And the saids Lords being Informed that some of the persons named in the said Act to be Commissioners uithin the shire of Drumfreis are aither deceased or have not qualified themselves for the exercise of their offices as Commissioners by suearing and signing the oath of alleadgance to his Majestie and signing the Assurance in the terms of the Acts of parliament att Leist that it is necessary and Convenient that more persons be added to the persons already named Commissioners uithin the said Shire Therfore the saids Lords of his Majesties privy Councill doe hereby add to the persons already nominat to be Commissioners uithin the forsaid shire the persons follouing Viz William Johnstoun of Corhead Archbald Murray of Duncrieff Andrew Johnstoun of Neutoun John Johnstoun of Persbiehall […] Tennent of Houes James Grhame of Schaw James Johnstoun of Selcoth Cornelius Euart of Sailfoot William Carruthers of Barckensyde Mr Thomas Rome of Cloudoun Mr William Johnstoun Son to the Laird of Westerraw and William Whyte in Pondine Chamberland to the Earle of Annandale And Have nominated and appointed And herby nominats and appointes the persones abovenamed as said is to be Commissioners of Supplie uithin the said shire of Drumfreis uith the other persons named in the said Act and preceeding acts of parliament And that for the effect above and in the said Act and preceeding acts of parliament particularly mentioned And Gives and Grants to the persons heirby nominat Commissioners as said is (so soon as they shall be qualified by suearing and signing the oath of alleadgance and signing the Assurance to his Majestie King William in the terms of the Act of parliament) the same pouer priviledge and Commission which by the said act of parliament is granted to the persons therin named To be exercised alse fullie and freely in all respects as if they had been named in the said act of parliament and as any other Commissioners of supply in any other Shire uithin this Kingdome does or many Laufullie doe And the saids Lords doe hereby authorize the persone who shall be Conveener of the Commissioners of supply in the said shire for the tyme to administrat the oath of alleadgance to the saids Commissioners heirby nominat as said is And to see them suear and subscrybe the same and signe the Assurance appointed by Act of parliament And that at the first dyet of the Commissioners meeting after their presents shall Come to their hands And appointes the saids Commissioners to report the said alleadgance so suorne and Assurance so signed to the Clerks of his Majesties privie Councill And that uithin the space of threttie dayes nixt after their meeting and administrating the said oath and Assurance.
