Letter To the Commissioners of Supply anent Militia

The Letter underwryten Being read was approven and appointed to be signed by the Lord Chancellor and to be transmitted by his Majesties sollicitor to the Commissioners of supplie in the severall shires Folloues the tenor of the Letter
My Lords and Gentlemen
The summer season Being now approaching which is the ordinary tyme that the Militia is in use to meet For exercising and training Yow the Commissioners of Supply in the severall shires to whom these presents shall be directed are hereby required to send into the Clerks of privy Councill the names of all persons in your Shire of the best Interest whither qualified by Law or who have not yet had the occasion to qualify themselves fitt to be Captains uith a List also of such Leivtennants and Ensignes as aither already named or shall be by yow named betuixt and the first teusday of May nixt And that yow mark such as are in Law qualified and such as are not To the effect that the Councill may approve of such as shall be thought most propper for these respective Imployments This Conform to ane Act of privie Councill is subscribed by sic subscribitur Poluarth cancelar I.P.D.
