Letter from the Councill To The Justices of Ireland and proposalls Anent pacquet boats
A Letter from my Lord Chancelor at Command of the Councill to the Justices of Ireland And Lykewise proposalls anent packet Boatts to be established betuixt Scotland and Ireland read and approven
Folloues the Letter
Right Honourable We are Glade of your Lordships safe arryvall in Ireland for the administration of the Government of that Kingdome It is very acceptable That his Majestie hath Enjoyned your Lordships to Keep a Good Correspondence uith us And it shall be readily and Carefullie observed on our part We have hereuith sent proposalls for establishing pacquet Boats betueen the Kingdoms And doe expect your Lordships returne And ue shall ever cheerfullie Imbrace all occasions wherin our Concurrence uith your Lordships may be necessary for the promoving of his Majesties service and the good of both Kingdoms This signed by warrand and in name of the Councill by sic subscribitur Right honourable your most humble servant sic subscribitur Marchmont.2
Folloues the proposalls from the Lords of his Majesties privy Councill To the Lords Justices of Ireland Concerning the establishment of pacquet boatts betuixt the tuo Kingdomes
Primo That ther be four pacquet Boatts Betuixt port Patrick In Scotland and Doneghadie in Ireland wherof tuo at port Patrick on the Charge of Scotland and tuo at Doneghadie on the charges of Ireland And that the pacquet be transported tuyce or thryce a week betuixt both Kingdomes from aither syde Secundo That for maintaining the tuo pacquet Boats on the Scotts syde Letters passing from Ireland to Scotland shall pay tuo shilling Scotts the single Letter and so proportionally according to the knouen rates for which they are to be Carryed through Scotland by post horses.
