Letter from the King for adjurning the parliament

The Letter follouing from the King to the privie Councill being read uas ordered to be recorded wherof the tenor Folloues
Sic suprascribitur William Rex
Right trustie and right well Beloved Cousin and Councelor Right trustie and Entirely beloved Cousin and Councelor Right trustie and right uell Beloved Cousins and Councelors Right trustie and uell beloved Cousins and Councelors Right trustie and uell Beloved Councelors And trustie and well beloved Councelors We Greet yow well Wheras the present state of our affairs Doeth not require the meeting of our parliament so soon as the Eighteenth day of Agust to which it uas Adjurned Therfore We are resolved to Continow the adjurnment from the said Eighteenth day of Agust to the fifteenth day of December nixt And that the members of parliament be not putt to unnecessar trouble and charge We doe heirby authorize and require yow to Issue furth a proclamation in our name Ordering a Continuation of the forsaid adjurnment of our parliament to the fifteenth day of december nixt And ordering all the Members therof to attend that day at Edinburgh in the usuall and upon the accustomed Certifications For doing wherof this shall be your warrand And so We bid yow heartily farewell Given att our Camp at Cocklebergh near Brussills the 19/29 of July 1697 And of our reigne the Nynth year By his Majesties Command sic subscribitur Robert Pringle.
