Letter from the King anent young Langtoun
The follouing Letter for taking off young Langtouns Confynment being read was ordered to be recorded whereof the tenor folloues
Sic suprascribitur William Rex
Right Trustie and right well beloved Councelor Right trustie and Entirely beloved Cousin and Councelor Right trustie and uell Beloved Cousins and Councelors Right trustie and uell beloved Cousins and Councelors And trustie and well beloved Councelors We Greet yow well wheras by a former letter to yow we did require yow to take baille and Confyne Archibald Cockburn of Langtoun younger to our City of Edinburgh and seven mylls about the same And we now understanding that he hath since suorne and signed the oath of alleadgance and assurance It is our will and pleasure And ue heirby authorize and require yow to take off the said Confynment and Baill For doing whereof this shall be your uarrand so we bid yow heartily fareuell Given att our Court at Kensingtoun the 23d day of Aprile 1697 And of our reign the 9th year By his Majesties Command sic subscribitur Tullibardine.
