His Majesties Letter for adjurning the parliament

The Letter underwryten from his Majestie to the Councell being read was ordered to be recorded wherof the tenor folloues
sic suprascribitur William Rex
Right Trustie and Right well beloved Cousine and Councelor Right trustie and Entirely Beloved Cousine and Councellor Right trustie and well beloved Cousins and Councellors Right trustie and well Beloved Councellors And trustie and well beloved Councellors We Greet yow well Wheras the present state of our affairs does not require the meeting of our parliament so soon as the Fifteenth day of December nixt To which it was adjurned Therfore we are resolved to Continow the said adjurnment from the said fifteenth day of December to the Eleventh day of March nixt And that the Members of parliament be not putt to unnecessary trouble and charge We doe heirby authorize and require yow to Issue furth a proclamation in our name ordering a Continuance of the forsaid adjournment of our parliament to the said Eleventh day of March nixt And ordering all the Members therof to attend that day at Edinburgh in the usuall way and upon the accustomed Certifications For Doing wherof This shall be your warrant So we bid yow heartily Farewell Given att our Court at Kensingtoune the 29 day of November 1697 and of our reigne the 9th year By his Majesties Command sic subscribitur James Ogilvie.
