Letter from the King for disbanding Mcgill and Douglasses regiments

The Letter underwryten from his Majestie to the Councell being read was ordered to be recorded wherof the tenor folloues

Right trustie and Right well beloved Cousin and Councellor Right trustie and Entirely beloved Cousin and Councellor Right trustie and right well beloved Cousins and Councellors Right trustie and well beloved Cousins and Councelors Right trustie and well beloved Councelors And trustie and uell beloved Councellors We Greet yow well Wheras some of our regiments that did serve during the warr in Flanders are already by our order sailed for that our ancient Kingdome And that we have ordered others to be Embarqued It is Therfore our will and pleasure That how soon and Immediately after any of these Regiments shall Land yow Give orders for disbanding of the tuo regiments of foot Commanded by Colonell Makgill and Colonell Douglass yow are to Cause secure ther armes In our magazines And we hereby Impoure yow to Recommend to the Lords of our Thesaury to order the payment of their subsistance to the tyme of their being disbanded For doing wherof this shall be your warrant so we bid yow heartily Farewell Given att our Court at Kensingtoune the 30 day of November 1697 and of our reigne the 9th year By his Majesties Command sic subscribitur James Ogilvie.
