Letter from the King adding the Laird of Kelburn to the privy Councill
A Letter from the King for receaving […] Boyle of Kelburn a privy Councelor And another for receaving Sir Patrick Murray of Salcoatts to be a privie Councelor Being both read were ordered to be recorded And both the forsaid Gentlemen being Called in Did suear and signe the oath of alleadgance appointed to his Majestie and signed the assurance and the association And the Lord High Chancelor Having administrat to both the oath de fideli they were receaved privie Councelors Conforme to his Majesties Letters Folloues the tenor of Kelburns Letter

Right trustie and Right uell Beloved Councelor Right trustie and Entirely Beloved Cousine and Councelor Right trustie and right well beloved Cousins and Councelors Right trustie and uell Beloved Councelors And trustie and uell beloved Councelors We Greet yow well Wheras In Consideration of the Loyalty and abilities of […] Boyll of Kelburn We have thought fitt to add him to the privy Councill of that our antient Kingdome It is therfore our will and pleasure And we doe heirby authorize and require yow to admitt and receave him into that our privie Councill in the ordinary forme and method in such cases accustomed For doing wherof this shall be your warrand And so we bid yow heartily fareuell Given at our Court at Kensingtoun the 31 day of March 1697 and of oure reigne the 8th year By his Majesties Command sic subscribitur James Ogilvie.
