Att Edinburgh the Tuenty day of Jully Jaj vic nyntie seven years

Order

[Recommendation to the committee anent victual]

Report of the Committie Anent Spoilt Victuall Ane petitione John Murray and Alexander Campbell Being this day read and the Lords of his Majesties privie Councill refuses the desyre of the petition And ordaines all the victuall which by the report of the suorn reported to be insufficient to be destroyed betuixt and the tuenty Eight day of July instant unles the ouners therof shall find sufficient Cautione betuixt and that day acted in the books of privy Councill that they shall transport the same furth of this Kingdome betuixt and the tenth day of Agust And that they shall not any part therof be sold uithin this Kingdom or returned into the same againe or be made use of therin under the penaltie of tuelve pounds Scotts2 for each boll of the said victuall which shall not be transported furth of this Kingdome betuixt and the day forsaid or which shall not be sold returned or made use of therin And alloues all the victuall which by the said report of the suourn men is declared may be sufficient or wholsome or eatable meall to be disposed off by the ouners therof And in the mean tyme Continoues the sequestration putt by the Committie upon the Insufficient victuall in the same caice and under the same security which the Comittie hes putt the samen under untill it be destroyed or transported in manner underwryten And the saids Lords doe heirby add the viscount of Tarbat and the Lord Beilhaven to the Committie formerly appointed anent the said victuall viz the Earle of Ruglen Mr Frances Montgomery Sir Thomas Burnet the provost of Edinburgh the Laird of Kelburn and Sir Patrick Murray and Recommends to the said Committie to repaire the morrow to the toune of Leith and to Consider what victuall is Come to the said toune by sea since the Committie was ther which was upon the fourteenth of July instant And to take a view and Inspectione of the victuall so come in And return to the Councill a formall report as hes been done by such men of the victuall formerly Lying at Leith Its case and Condition And the saids Lords Declares any three of the forsaid Committie to be a sufficient quorum And appointes the victuall which is to be destroyed to be done at sight of them or their said quorum.
