Act The Burgh of Dundie

Anent the petition given in to the Lords of his Majesties privie Councill By the provost Toun Counsell and Community of the burgh of Dundie Sheuing That wher the burgh of Dundie having appeared at the beginning of his Majesties most happie revolution Government And upon all occasiones ever since very zealous for his Majesties service wherby they have been and are exposed to the malice of his Majesties Enemies And the armes of the said burgh their Quota of the Militia being in a Great part aither Lost or become useless And the petitioners theirby rendered Incapable to send their said quota sufficiently armed for his Majesties service (if called for) or to defend themselves against his Majesties Enemies Forraign and domestick if they should be attackt as they have been severall tymes threatned by the one And being a seaport toune are exposed to the other And therfore humblie Craving to the effect underwryten as the said petition Bears The Saids Lords of his Majesties privie Councill having Considered this petitione given in to them By the provost Baillies Toune Counsell and Community of the burgh of Dundie They doe heirby allow the petitioners to Import into this Kingdome ane hundreth Stand of sufficient fyrearmes to be Imployed by them for arming their Militia or defending themselves against his Majesties enemies And the saids Lords Recommends to the Lords Commissioners of his Majesties Thesaury To discharge the tacksemen of his Majesties Customes and their Collectors Surveyors or uaiters to exact any publick deuty for the saids armes.
