Att Edinburgh The seventh day of December Jaj vic nyntie seven years

Order

Order for disbanding the said tuo regiments

After reading of the abovewryten Letter The Lords of his Majesties privie Councell Doe heirby Recommend to the Lord Carmichaell Commander in cheiff of his Majesties forces within this Kingdome for the tyme To Cause March doun the morrow from the Cannongate to the toune of Leith such of Colonell Makgill his regiment as are presently Lying in the Cannongate And to Cause disband the said whole regiment att the Links of Leith upon thursday the Nynth day of December instant And to take care that their armes be secured in sufficient and Good case And to Cause transport the same to the magazine uithin the Castle of Edinburgh for his Majesties service And appointes the magistrats of Edinburgh to Cause furnish tuelve severall Cairts at the Links of Leith upon thursday the said nynth of December instant by ten in the fornoon sufficient and in good Condition For Convoying the armes of the said regiment from the Links to the Castle of Edinburgh And Recommends to the said Lord Carmichaell to ordaine ane officer or officers to attend at the Links of Leith the tyme of disbanding the said regiment to take Care of the armes and to see that the samen be in good case and delyvered in to the Castle of Edinburgh And Recommends to the said Lord Carmichaell to Give order to the officers of Colonell Douglas his regiment To march the said whole regiment in to the toune of Stirling upon Fryday the tenth of December Instant And to Cause Disband them ther that day And to send an officer or officers to attend the disbanding of the said regiment at Stirling the said day And to take care that their armes be sufficient And to see them transported to the magazine in the Castle of Stirling for his Majesties service And Recommends to the said Lord Carmichaell to Give orders to such of the Companies of his Majesties regiment of foot guards as are in the toune of Leith to March to the Cannongate upon the said Nynth day of December instant And to Give orders to such of the Companies of the regiment under the Command of Colonell Row which are in the Shire of Fife to march to the Cannongate on the said nynth of December Instant And to Cause quarter the saids Companies of his Majesties regiment of guards and the saids Companies of Colonell Rous regiment uithin the Cannongate to doe dutie ther till farder orders.
