Att Edinburgh the Nynth day of February Jaj vic nyntie seven years

Recommendation to the Lord Chancelor to wryte to Colonel Hill anent prisoners

The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill having Considered a List sent from Colonell Sir John Hill Governour of Fortwilliam to the Lord High Chancelor of prisoners seased and Imprisoned or designed to have been seased or Imprisoned by the said Colonell They hereby Recommend to the Lord high Chancelor of Scotland to wryte to the said Colonell Sir John Hill That it is the Councills pleasure That he Liberat the persons Lately seased by him They first before their Liberation Giving bond and finding sufficient Cautione acted in the books of privie Councill under suitable penalties to their severall qualities and Conditions That they shall Live peacably under and with all Submission to the present Government of his Majestie King William And that they shall not Act Consult nor Contryve anything in prejudice therof nor shall not Converss or Correspond with any rebells And that they shall appear before the saids Lords of his Majesties privy Councill whensoever they shall be Called for or required to that effect And appointes the said Colonell Hill to transmitt all the bonds which he shall take to the Clerks of privie Councill So Soon as he shall take the same Excepting heirfrae all Such persons Contained in the forsaid List as are of or duell or remaine within the Isles of Mull As to which persons The saids Lords Recommends to the Earle of Argyll to take bonds from them with sufficient Cautioners before their Liberation under such penalties as their Lordships shall find aggreeable to their qualities That they shall Live peacably under and with all Submission to the present government of his Majestie King William And that they shall not Act Consult nor Contryve anything in prejudice therof nor shall not Converss or Correspond with any rebells And that they shall appear before the saids Lords of his Majesties privy Councill whensoever they shall be Called for or required to that effect And the saids Lords Recommends to the said Lord High Chancelor to wryte to the said Colonell Hill that he make search for and Cause apprehend all or any of the persons Contained in Former Lists sent by the said Lord Chancelor and the Earle of Argyll to the said Colonell and who have withdrawen themselves when sought for by the said Colonell.
