Proclamation

Proclamation for adjurning the parliament

After the reading of the above Letter The proclamatione underwryten being Immediately prepared was read votted approven and signed and ordered to be recorded wherof the tenor folloues
William by the Grace of God King of Great Brittaine France and Ireland defender of the faith To our Lyon King at arms and his brethren Heraulds Macers of our privie Councill pursevants messengers at armes our shireffs in that part Conjunctly and Severally specially Constitut Greeting Forasmuch as we by our proclamatione of the date the fifteenth day of March Last bypast Did adjurne our present Current parliament to the Eighteenth day of Agust nixt to Come And wheras the present state of our affairs doeth not require the meeting of our said parliament so soon as the said day to which It is adjurned Theirfore we with advyce of the Lords of our privie Councill Doe Continow the adjurnment of our said Current parliament from the said Eighteenth day of Agust to the fifteenth day of december nixt to Come And that the members of parliament be not putt to unnecessary charges and expences by attending the said Eighteenth day of Agust nixt we doe heirby adjurn our Said Current parliament untill the said fifteenth day of December nixt Requiring all the members of our said parliament to attend that day in the usuall way and under the Certificationes Contained in the severall acts of parliament made theranent Our Will is heirfore And ue Charge yow strictly and Command That Incontinent these our Letters seen ye pass to the mercat Cross of Edinburgh and to the mercat Crosses of the remanent head burghs of the severall shires and steuartries of this our Antient Kingdome And ther by open proclamation make Intimation that our said parliament is adjurned to the said fifteenth day of december nixt to Come And ordaines these presents to be printed Given under our signet att Edinburgh the nynth day of July and of our reigne the nynth year Jaj vic nyntie seven sic subscribitur.
