Warrand Mr Andrew Simpsone for printing two books
The Lords of his majesties privie Cownsell being informed that Mr Andrew Simspone merchand burges of Edinburgh caused print the books following Viz a new editione of the Lawes and customes of Scottland in maters criminall by Sir George McKeinzie of Rosehawgh to which is now added by way of appendix a treatise of the cryme of mwtilatione and dismembratione and of retaliatione by which it is pwnished wherin Severall qwestiones concerneing that Subject are discust Item A new editione of the observationes upon the act Eightein parliament twentie third King James the Sixth against dispositiones made in defrawd of creditors etc By the said Sir George McKeinzie of Rosehaugh carrecter and in many paragraphs much inlairged by the said Sir George himself The Saids Lords Doe heirby grant sole power Libertie and warrand to the said Mr Andrew Simpsone or Swch persones as he shall appoint to print vend and sell the saids two books And discharges all other persones whatsoever to reprint vend sell or import any of the saids two books for the Space of nyntine yeirs next efter the day and date heirof wnder the penaltie of Five Hundereth merks to be payed to the said Mr Andrew Simpsone or his assigneyes by and attour the certificatione of the saids books to the said Mr Andrew for his use and behoove
