Letter from the Queens Majestie To the Councill for Ishewing out ane proclamation for apprehending of Captain John Murray brother to Abercairney Being read The samen was ordained to be Recorded and Recommended to Sir Gilbert Eliot on of their Clerks to prepare a proclamation in the termes againest Tuelfe of the Clock this day Wherof the tenner followes

Right trusty and weell beloved Cousin and Councillor, Right trusty and Enteirly beloved Cousins and Councellors, Right trusty and well beloved Cousins and Councellors, Right trusty and weell beloved Councellors, and Trusty and weell beloved Councillors We greet yow weell Wheras by some discoveries lately made of the Evill designes that wer carrying on by Emissaries from France To the prejudice of us, and our Government Wee understand that Captain John Murray sone to the Laird of Abercairney was deeply concerned with others in the said Treasonable practices and that he is absconded Therfore It is our will and pleasure And we heirby Authorize and requyre yow To ishew furth ane proclamation in our name in such manners and forme as it is usuall on the Lyke occasiones for apprehending the said Captain John Murray With a reward of Five Hundered pounds Sterling to be payed immediately by our Treasury there To such person or persones who shall take or apprehend him And not doubting of your cair and dilligence in this matter Wee bid yow heartily fairwell Given at our Court Att St James’s the 22th day of February 1703/4 And of our Rigne the 2d year By Her Majesties Command Sic subscribitur Comertie
