Committee appointed For considering Her Majesties Letter to the Councill annent Highland Clans

The Lords off Her Majesties privie Councill Doe heirby Nominat and Appoint The Earles of Loudoun, Northesk, and Glasgow, The Lords president of Session, Register, Advocat, Justice Clerk, Aberuchill, Livetennent Generall Ramsay, Master Francis Montgomry, and Stevensone To be a Committee to consider Her Majesties Gracious Letter To the Lords off Her Councill, Annent provyding Fort William and posting Her Majesties forces To the best Advantage and calling in the Land Lords and Cheiffs of the Highland Clans And obleidgeing them to give sufficient security for keeping the pace and performing their Deuty to Her Majestie as prescribed by Law and to search for and find out the arm’s that may be brought from Holland to Scotland and to Consider the haill other points off the said Letter With power to the said Committee To cause Cite befoir them the persones they suspect that are come from Holland in the Ships laitly come home thence And to Examine the seaverall Skippers and others they think fitt therannent With power also to the said Committee To Call for the Lists of the Land Lords and Cheiffs off the Highland Clans from whatsomever persone or persones they think fitt And Recommends to the said Committee To meet this day at Four aclock in the Afternoon and Declaires any Three a quorum And to report to the Councill upon the haill premisss And Recommends to the said Committee To prepair and bring into the Councill against Thursday nixt ane answer by their Lordships to her Majesties said Letter.
