Warrant
Warrant for delyvering Three horse steallers to the Sherriff of Roxburgh To be Judged and tried by him at Jedburgh
Sir James Steuart Her Majesties Advocat Haveing Represented to the board That John, Robert, and Thomas, Hendersones now prisoners in the Tolbuith of Edinburgh Hade been apprehended and Incarcerat for stealling of horses on the border And that Archbald Doulgass off Cavers Sherriff principall of the sherriffdome off Roxburgh was desirous that they should be transmitted to Jedburgh Tolbuith to be tryed there In respect witnesses could be more conveniently had at that place The crimes haveing been Committed thereabout The Lords of Her Majesties privie Councill Doe heirby Give order and warrant to the Magistrats off Edinburgh and keeper of their Tolbuith To delyver the persones off John, Robert, and Thomas, Hendersones to the said Archbald Douglass off Cavers sherriff principall of the sherriffdome of Roxburgh or any haveing his order To be by him transmitted under a saife guard to the Tolbuith of Jedburgh and ordaines the magistrats of Jedburgh and keepers of their Tolbuith To receave and detaine them prisoners therin and the said Sherriff principall and his Deputs To judge and his Fiscalls of Court To prosecute them for the saids Crimes with all convenient dilligence as they will be answerable at their perrill.
