Letter from the Queen for Admitting and receiveing Major Genll Ramsay to be a Councillor

Letter from the Queen to the Councill for admitting and receiveing of Major Generall George Ramsay Into her Majesties privy Councill to be a Member therof Read and ordered to be Recorded; And the said Major Generall George Ramsay being called for did swear the oath of alledgence and Subscryve the Samen with the assurance; And the Lord Chancelor did tender the Oath de fideli Wherupon the said Major Generall did take his place as a privy Councellor at the board accordingly. Off the which Letter the tenor follows

Right trusty and right well beloved Cousin and Councillor Right trust and intirely beloved Cousins and Councellors Right trusty and right well beloved Cousins and Councellors, Right trusty and well beloved Cousins and Councellor, Right trustie and well beloved Councillors and trusty and well beloved Councillors Wee Greet yow well, Wheras in consideration of the Loyaltie and abilities of our Right trustie and well beloved Major Generall George Ramsay Commander in Chief of our forces, Wee have thought to add him to the privy Councill of that our kingdom These are therfore to authorize and requyre yow to admitt and receive him into that our privy Councill in the ordinary forme and method on Such occasiones accustumed For doeing wherof this Shall be your Warrant, And So wee bid yow heartily farewell Given at our Court at St James’s the 12th day of May 1702 and of our reigne the first year. By her Majesties Command Sic Subscribitur Seafeild.
