Procedure
Allowed the Lord Ross and Laird of Grant to advice again the nixt Sederunt whither they will signe the assurance yea or not
It being Represented to the Board That the Lord Ross and Laird of Grant had Sworne and Signed the oath of alledgance; But not Signed the assurance, And they pretending some unclearnes at the time, The act of parliament (1693) being Read in their presence Wherby Its provyded that the Oath of alledgance and assurance cannot be dividit; They desyred some time to advise and went out of the Councill till the matter was Considered by the Lords who allowed the Saids two Members to advise with themselves anent the Signeing the assurance betwixt and the nixt Councill day.
