Letter from the King For adjourning the Parliament
The Letter underwrittin from his Majesty to the Councill Being Read was ordered to be Recorded, wherof the Tenor follows.

Right trusty and right welbeloved Cousin and Councellor Right trusty and Entirely Beloved Cousin and Councellor, Right trusty and right welbeloved Cousins and Councellors, Right trusty and welbeloved Cousins and Councellors, Right trusty and welbeloved Councellors, and Trusty and welbeloved Councellors, We greet yow well. Whereas the present posture of our affairs, Does not Require the meeting of our parliament on the Twelfth day of September next, to which it was last adjourned. We are resolved To Continue the said Adjournment from the said day, to the Eight day of November next, And that the Members thereof may not be put to the Trouble and charge of attending the said Twelfth day of September. It is our will and Pleasure, And we doe heirby authorize and Require yow, To Issue forth a Proclamation in our name ordering a further Continuance of the Adjournment of our Parliament from the said day to the said Eight day of November next, And ordering all the members To attend that day att Edinburgh in the usual way and upon the accustomed certificationes, For doing wherof, This shall be your warrant, So we bid yow heartily farewell, Given at our court att Dieren The 22d of August 1699.
