The Lords of his Majesties privy Councill Doe heirby approve of Sir James Stewart his majesties Advocate, his giving order For, and Causing Imprison or arrest the person of John Whytfoord of Milntoun in the Tolbooth of Edinburgh upon suspicion of the said John Whytfoord his having designed to asassinate The person of Daniell Carmichaell of Mauldslie.
