Warrant Anent The Rotula Arthmetica

The Lords of his majesties privy Councill having by their act of the first of December Jaj vic Nyntie Eight granted to Mr George Brown minister and his heirs and assigneys the sole priviledge of frameing makeing and selling his instrument called Rotula Arthmetica for the sapce of fourtein years from the day and date of the said act And Discharged any other persones to make or sell the said instrument dureing the space forsaid without express Libertie and Licence from the said Mr George and his forsaids under the paine of Fyve hundred merks besides the Confiscatione of the Rotula’s made or sold The saids Lords doe hereby Discharge the Importing of the saids instrument or Rotula dureing the space forsaid as weell as the makeing or selling therof under the said paine of fyve hundred merks besides the Confiscation of the instruments of Rotula’s Imported as weell as these made or sold And And2 Declares this present act to Commence from the date of the former act which is the first of december Jaj vic nyntie Eight years.
